Buy Vee some time to fully embrace life’s most beautiful lesson - UNCONDITIONAL GRATITUDE
Otago
It’s been eight months since Vanessa got her diagnosis, terminal stage 4 metastasised bowel cancer. They gave her twelve months to live. To further complicate matters Vee has something called a B-RAF - mutant which sounds gangster but actually means that her cancer is particularly aggressive and fast moving. Time has certainly taken on a new level of importance for Vee, her husband Jamie and their loved ones. It’s been a marvel to see what they have managed to do with their time thus far, no bucket list…just time with the people they love.
Vee has maxed out on chemo and the only palliative treatment option left is two unfunded drugs - Cetuximab and Dabrafenib - that are specifically targeted at the B-RAF mutation and may give her a further four to six months of life. The rub is that they come at a ridiculously hefty price.
So here’s the pitch team…We know times are tough right now for many people and asking for money is just the worst, but if you are in a position to give a little something towards this extremely expensive treatment, it will mean Vee can have the time to learn her final lesson…how to graciously accept help without having to give anything back.
Those who know her will attest to the fact that she has made a life of paying it forward and it is now that all of that good karma gets to settle into its final iteration. If we can all give a little, Vee promises to “give a LOT’. Every. Damn. Day.
