Help fund Midgys Recovery

  • Thank You

      25 July 2018

This will be our final update. Despite all the efforts of the various vets poor Midgy had to be put down last Friday night. We, along with others members of the family were able to see her 1 last time. She purred when we patted her which made the time even more sad. She got an infection that couldn't be controlled.

Thank you so much to all those who donated. Because of your generosity we were able to cover a lot of Midgys bills and give her a chance. We will never forget this.

  • Worst news possible

      19 July 2018

Have just spoken to the vets and they say that the best thing for Midgy is to let her go. Her injuries were just too severe and to continue her treatment would in all probability ultimately be futile.

This is devastating but we don't want her to suffer and believe that we have done all we could for Midgy.

Thank you so much for all the support that everyone has given. It has meant so much and made it possible for us to do all we could.

We will be putting her to sleep tomorrow so family get a chance to say goodbye.

    😿😿

I have been following Midgy's story since seeing it posted on Facebook - I'm so very sorry to hear this. :(

Your family has done everything they can, but that certainly doesn't make it any easier. Rest easy, Midgy 💕

So so sad to hear, I prayed for Midgy last night that what ever happenes is the right thing. I wish Midgy could of stayed without being in pain but it's the right thing. I hope you's are doing okay, I dont know Midgy or yourself but I feel so sad about this. All the best, Keep positive :( R.I.P Midgy :( xx 💜

  • Sad News 😔

      18 July 2018

I have just got off the phone to the vet and the news is not good. After taking an XRay to investigate why she was not straightening her leg 2 new problems were found (why they couldn't work this out earlier I don't know). Midgy has a cracked pelvis and a dislocated kneecap. This can be fixed but we are talking about at least $1,500 extra cost.

We are seriously thinking that maybe we might have to make the hardest decision if that is what is best but it will break our hearts.

I would also like to add that we have heard that some people think we are trying to scam people. This is 100% genuine and you are welcome to call the vets if you like. Ourvets Parklands and the code is MIDGY29

  • Still waiting.

      17 July 2018

Midgy is still waiting at the vets. The poor thing will hopefully have her final operation later this week so she can come home. A big thank you to all those that have given.

We are still waiting for the skin on Midgy to finish its dieback so she can have her final operation to tidy things up.

Midgy had another wee procedure to remove diseased tissue. She handled it well and is a little brighter. Ate some food for the first time in ages so very pleasing. If all goes well and she can fight her infection she will be coming home on Monday.

  • Midgy has taken a turn for the worst.

      11 July 2018

Midgy has had to go to the vet again for surgery to drain fluids and remove some dead tissue. Not good.
