Our lovely cat Midgy was attacked by 2 dogs and requires further treatment to save her life.
Canterbury
Our cat Midgy was mauled by 2 stray dogs late at night and suffered extensive injuries. We rushed her to the vet and were faced with the heartbreaking decision to either put her down or have her undergo emergency surgery. This was going to cost between $1500 and $3000 plus the other costs of keeping the cat at the vets while recovering. Midgy is a dearly loved family pet who was in excellent health and we consider her part of the family so even though we could not afford it we decided to try and save her life.
Thankfully the owners of the dogs have offered to pay for all of Midgys treatment up until July 11.
Today I received further bad news. The damage to Midgy includes a cracked pelvis and leg damage. It is going to cost a substantial amount of money to get Midgy right.
Any money raised will be used to pay for her further treatment costs.
Thank you so much to those that have given.
This page is to raise funds to cover this further surgery. Midgy is such a lovely cat and our 2 young children would be devastated to lose her.
This is Midgys last chance so please help if you can. If more money than is needed is raised then we will donate this to the spca.
Thank You 25 July 2018
This will be our final update. Despite all the efforts of the various vets poor Midgy had to be put down last Friday night. We, along with others members of the family were able to see her 1 last time. She purred when we patted her which made the time even more sad. She got an infection that couldn't be controlled.
Thank you so much to all those who donated. Because of your generosity we were able to cover a lot of Midgys bills and give her a chance. We will never forget this.
