Help fund my student exchange to Italy in 2021

My name’s Marie Meti. I am 15 years old and going on an 11 month, student exchange to Italy in January 2021.

I am trying to save up enough money, with the help of Givealittle donors, to pay for my student exchange trip to Italy. I will take part in the New Zealand Institute of International Understanding international cultural exchange programme that has been set up to help kiwi kids, like me, take part in such exchange programmes. I am very excited to have the opportunity to do this!!

I have always wanted to travel and study abroad. This trip is to allow me to gain a new independence and understanding of the world. It will be an amazing life experience that won't just be when I am there but it will also benefit me later in life. I will be able to fully surround myself in a completely new culture, around completely new people in a completely different part of the world. It will help me grow socially, as I will be thrown in unfamiliar territory with people that speak another language and will need to get on with making friends and learning. I know that this experience will teach me new life skills and knowledge that will last a life time.

This exchange will cost me approximately $15,000. My goal is to raise some money this year to help with the costs of going on this exchange. This Givealittle page will be able to push me to my goal with the help of kind strangers like you. As I'm still 15, a lot of businesses only take on 16+ year olds so I have been gaining money every way I can through small fundraising ventures at school and in my local community. I still need many more $$$ to cover all of the costs of the exchange.
