Nationwide

We’ve been working on a passion project for the last 6 months visiting and photographing off grid cabins, yurts, shacks, huts and homes all around Aotearoa. Our goal is to highlight the rich culture of our local communities and local businesses, and talk openly about a cleaner, greener and more sustainable NZ.

This has been an amazing project to work on and were hoping we can create something that every kiwi finds a bit of themselves in. We’re so excited to showcase some incredible locations and backyard wonders.

As this is a passion project of ours, it means we take time off from our jobs to visit and photograph each location. It’s work we love to do, so it’s never been about making a living from it. Our only mission is to share back our stories and journey with you.

Were asking for a helping hand while we bunker down and put it all together. This means taking time off from our full time roles and piecing together a work with our full attention and care. We’re hoping to be able to put extra time into the book and ensure the printing is done with correct materials that aren’t harmful to the planet. We need to order specific plant based inks and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper to print the hardcover books so we’re able to offset its carbon emissions. These materials are a little more expensive but it’s all for a good cause!

We’d appreciate any contribution towards this project. Well offer any larger donations of $80+ a copy of the book once completed with a signed thank you from us! Please send us your email address and we’ll get in touch.

Use of funds

Help us buy the correct materials for the book to be carbon offset and ensure we can dedicate more time to putting it all together. Any surplus will go towards Ekos. Ekos donations help develop new indigenous forest carbon projects.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
