Help Fund Ruby – Josie’s Certified Assistance Dog

My name is Josie, and I’m fundraising the final $10,000 needed to complete the placement of my certified assistance dog, Ruby, through K9SMD.

Ruby and I have been together for 10 months now and she's already made such a huge impact on my life. She’s calm, intuitive, and has walked beside me through some of the hardest parts of healing. After years of navigating PTSD and chronic pain on my own, having Ruby with me has brought a sense of connection and safety I didn’t think I’d feel again.

This hasn’t been an easy journey, but it’s one I’ve committed to. I’ve already raised $13,000 through a disability grant and personal efforts. The final $10,000 is all that remains to secure Ruby’s full placement through K9 Search Medical Detection, a certified provider.

Ruby has changed my life in quiet, powerful ways. She helps me feel more like myself again and I will be forever grateful to her.

ACC has supported parts of my recovery, but they declined to fund the final amount needed to keep Ruby with me. That’s why I’m reaching out to anyone who understands that healing from trauma isn’t linear, and no one should have to do it alone.
