Would you like to give koha to help our whānau care for and maintain 6km of Waimahana Road?
Northland Region
Waimahana Road is a vital access route, but it is not fully maintained by council.
Council responsibility ends at the 2km mark. The remaining 6km is community-managed, meaning the hau kāinga, those who awhi Waimahana, and kaitiaki of the whenua - people who call Waimahana home, care for it, live there or visit often, and bring guests by invitation - provide funding or in-kind support to keep this private road safe and accessible.
Through our 2026 Adopt a Metre kaupapa, the community has already raised $21,200 of our $60,000 goal, funding over 2km metre by metre.

This Givealittle page provides an additional way to give koha, alongside Adopt a Metre, ideal for those who prefer a simple one-click donation or wish to contribute a smaller amount. Our Givealittle target is $15,000.
All funds raised support maintenance and improvement of this 6km section, covering contractors, materials, and roading projects, ensuring whānau and kaitiaki of the whenua can safely travel and continue caring for the land.
