Help get Ed to Australia with me!

  • It's been a full on 2wks since we landed in Aus but heres a full update from us!

    Ive been looking at many houses/apartments for Ed + I, finally secured 1 last Friday (30/06) after some amazing luck! I swear it's bcos I found my Alice in Wonderland charm I couldn't find before leaving Welly! The apartment I managed to get us was 1 i looked at online originally when I first talked abt moving to Linda & things when everything fell apart with my job. Unfortunately it’s not furnished, which makes it harder, but my main goal was a roof over our heads. Ive paid our bond & 1st couple of wks rent & have enough for abt a month's worth of rent & some living expenses for us. What I wasn't prepared for was an extra week at cattery for Ed or having to try to scramble for furniture. The main items we need are a Fridge/Freezer & Washing Machine. I'm ok with a cheap air bed till Im working. Im searching regularly on Fbk Marketplace & anywhere I can for these secondhand but have a minor transport issue. Ive found a place for new whiteware cheap +free delivery which I can get a washing machine for $479aud & a fridge/freezer $663aud. Im applying for jobs this week, I’m pretty much applying to any job I know I can do within retail & hospo. This wk so far I have been up to see Ed & give him snuggles & we had his nails cut. He loves the vet nurses & watching nature docos. Definitely looking fwd to bringing him home this wknd! I still need to get a large bag of his prescription biscuits ($150/3 mth), new water fountain, litter/litter box before I bring him home.

      But I’m staying positive as everything can only go forward from here! There are so many job vacancies it’s only a matter of time til I’ve one and we can pay it forward for the help Ed and I have received to get here <3

      We are so thankful for all the help so far with getting Ed on the plane and hopefully we will be able to share the love by paying it forward once we're all sorted.

    Hi everyone!

    Ed is loving the cattery & his vet nurses fussing over him! I've been to see him several times.

    Ed has had to have his time in cattery extended for an extra week till I can get the keys to our apartment. Unfortunately it was the pricer one Linda and I discussed before she passed which I made as a back up option.

    It also means on top of extra cattery fees, we have to get Ed's litter, food & things he needs + a Fridge freezer & washing machine as the place is completely unfurnished. (Not quite what I was aiming for but we'll work with it) but it means we need some help while I'm still job hunting to get these things which of course I hate asking for help, but I keep being reminded sometimes you have to ask. I'm happy to sleep on the floor etc with an air bed as theres more important things we need. I will be searching marketplace but we have no car which could make it fun lol but it's an experience.

    I've also started an Instagram for Ed as requested by ppl & still have some of his postcards for sale.

    So hence this is our lil update & extension on here.

    We've just updated the goal to help with the last costs of our moving, after some of our lovely Twitter family reached out this morning 💜 so we're only $200 short due to fees etc on here to cover everything incl getting the 2 bags shipped💜 thanks everyone we love you all so much! Especially considering the news this wknd.

  • A Lil Update!

    Evening Everyone!

    We are officially in Wellington, and getting the last of the things done before we leave in 2weeks. Ed is doing really well, although he wasn't very impressed with the drive down on Friday lol.

    I have done a fundraising raffle this week via Facebook & Twitter which sold within 3days, so now once all payments are in I can get it drawn sooner. Which is very awesome as thats covered the last of his flight costs.

    Unfortunately we still have Ed's Customs Fee, Prescription food and cattery costs to cover on the 21st June so still have alot to do towards Ed's costs but I am determined to make it all happen :) We cant Thank Everyone enough for all the help we have had so far! It means so much!

    I am also having to figure out how to get just under $500 to ship my 3 bags to Australia with the last few things we are keeping and want to take with us. But I have faith it will happen.

    Hope everyone has had a fabulous short week! Thanks so much for all the lovely messages of support & help towards Ed's costs to move. It means so much to Me and Ed!

  • Not long now!

    I've been selling what I can while putting everything aside towards Ed's costs. His flights have to be paid in full on June 7th so just on a week to go. So I'm still working towards that & his boarding costs at the Cattery and Customs Fee for him to leave the airport in Australia.

    We head to Wellington on Friday for just over 2weeks before we leave where I'll still be working my tushie off with my biz to help get what Ed needs for at the cattery etc.

    We are so Thankful for all the help we have had so far on this journey & the continued support! We can't thank everyone enough <3

  • Few updates for you all <3

    Hi everyone!

    We have a few updates to share today, which is exciting.

    Firstly I paid the $500 Deposit yesterday (26/04/23) to Jetpets so that could get Ed's flights sorted. Thankful I had sold so much so far to help get that deposit paid. He will fly from Wellington to Auckland on the 20th June so they can do his export stuff and get his certificate etc he needs to fly into Australia. I will meet him in Auckland and we will be on the same flight leaving Auckland on the 21st. We have just under 2K balance to pay on June 7th.

    Today (27/04) I got his Statutory Declaration done with a JP so that Jetpets have authority for his vet visits on the 20th June etc and his care so he can fly. Which then completed everything we need to do till his final payment is due.

    Then on June 21st when we fly I will have his customs fees of $150AUD to pay when I pick him up from the airport.

    Then we head to the Cattery & vet where he will be boarding for the week or so while I get house lease sorted and get house ready for him. So we have those costs to pay as well.

    So as you can see there's still a lot of costs to get sorted. I am still selling absolutely everything we are not taking to Australia with us to help raise the money we need by June 7th. We also have Ed's postcards we are selling on social media.

    Today we will also start selling tickets for Lotto Bonus numbers to help raise the money to get his flights paid as well, which we will be sharing in many places online.

    We are so thankful for all the supportive messages on socials as well as here! let alone everyone who is helping share the page, donating to help get Ed on the plane with me and so much more. <3 it means so much to be able to take Ed with me. We have been through so much together that it's only fitting he gets to live his best life with me in Australia as well :)

  • Quick update

    Yesterday Ed visited the Vet for his yearly vaccination and to be Microchipped, which is an Aus Gov requirement. He handled it like a champ! So that's another thing ticked off the list.

    We also have an online Scentsy Party this weekend to help raise funds for Ed's Flights, which anyone is welcome to join 💜www.facebook.com/groups/msnzaprilmysteryhost/
