Help get Jack to California!!!!

Hi Im Jack Lee, I’m 17 years old and am privileged to have been selected to represent New Zealand in the 2019 Under 18 Junior Surfing Team for the Vissla ISA World Junior Surfing Championships, to be held in Huntington Beach California from the 26/10/19 to the 3/11/2019.

I started surfing at the start of 2013 at 11 and loved it straight away. It was not long before I started enjoying training and competing in events whenever I could. In 2015 I achieved my first final, at 13, in the Billabong Surf Series at Whangamata, while competing in the U14s, where I placed 4th. Last year, 2018, I won the Piha Billabong comp in the U16’s, 2nd in the Backdoor comp in Raglan and 3rd in the Under 16’s National event in Gisbourne. At the end of febuary I was not well with an injury, so had to cut right down on my training for quite a few months to get my health back on track. This year I have won the Ripcurl U17 competition, Canterbury Champs U18, and have come runner up, 2nd, in the 3 Billabong grom series comps, at Mt Maunganui, Whanagamata and Piha and 3rd in the u18 Nationals in Taranaki. This has me sitting at number 2 for the U18 rankings.

Surfing is something I love to do and it is something I will always have in my life. I want to take my surfing as far as I can. Any little donations will help me get to Huntington Beach and will be very much appreciated. And if I could relieve some of the strain on my parents by trying to come up with as much as I can of the $6000, I need to be part of the part of the NZ team, it would be amazing and incredibly humbling.
