Support my journey with the Down Under Cycling Academy in Italy as I pursue my dream of racing at an international level
Wellington
Hi everyone,
I'm an 18-year-old female cyclist from Wellington, and I’m excited to announce that I’ve been offered a spot at an Italian-based cycling academy (DUCA) for two months later this year. I recently wrapped up my 2024 season by winning the National Road Series in New Zealand, and I’m looking forward to seeing where my cycling journey takes me in the year ahead as I continue chasing my dreams.
The Down Under Cycling Academy offers young riders from Australia and New Zealand the chance to ride and race in Europe. Based in Verona, I’ll be competing in a mix of one-day races and multi-stage tours. Racing in Europe has always been a dream of mine, and I can’t wait to experience big pelotons, develop my skills, and gain invaluable experience at an international level.
This goal comes with significant costs for team camp, accommodation, food, insurance, and travel expenses. When I’m not working at my local bike shop, I’ll be out training and preparing for the season ahead. Any support you can offer through this page would be incredibly appreciated and will help me reach this next big step in my cycling journey.
Thank you so much for your support,
Mikayla :)
The $5000 fundraising goal covers the team camp costs including accommodation and competition fees.
