Fundraising to cover the costs to get the boys to Bali
Upper Hutt, Wellington
Troy Thurlow and Kona Levi, two 19 year old Upper Hutt locals and Throwdown Academy's up and coming fighters trailed and were accepted into the WKA (World Kickboxing Association) Aotearoa New Zealand team, to represent New Zealand at the upcoming Bali Asia Pacific Championship in 2025. Coach Shayne Matthews has also been selected to coach as part of the Aotearoa NZ team's coaching staff and will travel with the boys.
The cost per person is $4500. As we are a small, self funded family gym, in Upper Hutt, we don't have the financial means to support the expenses for the trip and are seeking support from our friends, whanau and community to help raise the funds needed to get the boys over to Bali. This is an amazing opportunity for the boys, who have consistently and tirelessly worked hard to get to this level and are excited to perform on the world stage and represent New Zealand and little old Upper Hutt.
I am the fundraising and sponsorship coordinator for Throwdown Academy.
The money will be used for the flights, accommodation, training sessions in Bali and NZ team kit for Troy, Kona and Shayne.

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far and who continue to support the boys in their fundraising efforts.
