Help a blind womans sporting dream come true
Mount Albert, Auckland
Meet Rhonda Comins, an inspiring blind tennis player from New Zealand. Diagnosed as a child with retinal dystrophy, causing progressive extreme vision loss, she discovered blind tennis 18 months ago. This sport quickly became her passion, bringing joy and confidence to her life. Late last year, she achieved incredible success, winning both the Women’s B1 Singles and Mixed B1 Doubles at the 2024 South Australia Open Blind Tennis Tournament in Adelaide.
Rhonda went on to play at the Victoria blind tennis open, held in April 2025. Again, she won the B1 mixed singles.
As blind tennis is still developing in New Zealand, international travel is essential for her to compete and grow. Her dream is to continue to smash it.
She needs your support to cover travel for coaching sessions, tournaments abroad, and essential equipment including rackets, audible tennis balls, and clothing. Every donation brings her closer to her dream and helps raise awareness for blind sports.
Your generosity not only helps Rhonda pursue competitive blind tennis at the highest level but also champions inclusivity and visibility for blind people internationally. Help her inspire others and show that vision impairment doesn’t limit dreams—it fuels them.
Join Rhonda on this extraordinary journey. Your support means everything.
