Help get Ropata to YOUTH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS in Turkey

This page has been created to help raise funds for Ropata The Buster Lewis as he has been selected in the New Zealand Blackgloves Team to attend the IFMA Youth Wourld Championship in Antalya, Turkey 28th Sept-06 October also given the privilege to be Team CAPTAIN for 2019.

Ropata is a 16year old High school student with a passion for Muay Thai after choosing the sport over Rugby in 2017,

Ropata has been training and fighting for Jackals Martial Arts here in Hawkes Bay for the past 4years and currently holds two New Zealand Siam Cup Flyweight Titles and his fight record to date is 16 wins 6 loss with one win by way of TKO within his time of Muay thai he has had the opportunity to not only represent Hawkes Bay, but NZ as a whole in x2 NZ vs AUS events unfortunately losing both battles but gaining experience and also at the Youth Worlds in 2017 and 2018 in Thailand where he competed in one of the busiest weight Category and have fallen short of his goal "Gold Medal" which He is eager and determined to accomplish this year. He is the only Hawkes Bay fighter selected and Ropata is excited not only to represent himself and whanau but also his region and Country aswell.

Leading up to this event Ropata has been training twice a day with his Coach and team mates at Jackals or at home with his nephew and running in his spare time to maintain fitness and stamina, his other activities are School, working Part time to help with this and study for NCEA.

I have started Fundraising with Raffles with sausage sizzles to come However, as you could imagine getting to Turkey can be costly which approximately sits around the $5500-$6000 mark rough estimate via Phuket as we are planning on sending Ropata to Phuket, Thailand for a 10day stay over to train leading up to worlds to help prepare him

This amount is up to us to fund and will cover travel, accomodation, registration, uniform, food etc
