Help Graeme with his IBM treatment

$1,030 of $45,000 goal
Given by 9 generous donors in one year

An Appeal to implore people to help my Husband Graeme to pay for the treatment he needs to for his auto-immune disease (IBM).

Hamilton, Waikato

My husband is the "backbone" of our family. Not long before he turned 60 years of age, he developed the symptoms of Inclusion Body Myositis (I.B.M) which is a weakening of the muscles caused by inflammation to the point that the autoimmune system is attacking itself causing the muscles throughout his body to weaken. IBM has no known cure.

It has been devastating  for us to see the strength in his legs decline, and see him have difficulty swallowing. He contributes so much to enrich the lives of others with his brilliant musicianship and piano or keyboard skills. I rely on him as my main means of transport and support with my own disabilities, such as restricted mobility due to needed another Hip - Replacement and Early Onset Frontemporal  Dementia.

He has completed some Plasma Infusions and is trying a smaller Stem Cell Treatment in Manukau, that uses fat cells ftom his thighs, while he awaits the Larger Overseas Stem Cell Treatment Parocedure that he needs

Graeme deserves to enjoy his retirement fully and continue to be a great father, to my 2 children, and a prospective grandfather in 2024. Please donate what you can so that he can get the stem cell treatment and other treatments he needs.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
