Help Granny 👵 Pay her medical bills

As with so many people in 2020 affected by Covid, my mother in law (fondly knowing as granny) found herself on the other side of the globe, unable to return home to South Africa and in excruciating pain. What we were soon to find out is that over the past months (possibly years) she had a tumor growing in her lower back until it eventually found itself wrapped around her spinal cord.

She lost mobility in her legs and was admitted to the Waikato Hospital at the beginning of December 2020. After numerous tests it was confirmed that the tumor was a malignant follicular lymphoma. Stage 4! How could 2020 have ended so badly.

After 6 weeks between the hospital and the Rehabilitation Centre Granny was finally discharge, but unfortunately the likelihood of her ever regaining full mobility is not good. She will now spend the next 6 months completing Chemotherapy in an attempt to shrink the tumor and relieve the pressure on her spinal cord.

We are pleading, from the bottom of our hearts, to assist us in covering the hospital bills that unfortunately she is not covered for. The total bill currently sits at $119,500. We will be able to cover some of the cost , but have no idea how we will cover remainder. If you are able to gice a little please know that now matter how big or small, we are eternal grateful, and so is our Granny!
