Help Havalil Faith's have the best chance of recovery.

    For those who are interested in keeping up with Faith's recovery the vet came the other day for her 3 week post clinic stay and 4 week post accident assessment. They were very happy with her progress so far and she is doing better than they expected her to.

    We won't know for sure if she will recover enough to be a broodmare until around the 6 months post injury mark. But so far she is doing everything right.

  • week 1 vet assessment.

    On Friday I booked the vet to come out an assess Faith's progress so far. They were happy with her progress, she has started to weight bear on her injured leg which has taken the strain off her good leg. This has reduced her risk of laminitis in that leg. She can now walk reasonable comfortable on her leg but still finds getting up and down difficult. She also can't move faster than a walk without going on three legs (she has gotten a couple of frights and tried to 'run' to the other side of her stable). At this time the vet has suggested that there really is no point doing the bone scan as they are 99% sure of their diagnoses and the care I am giving her is starting to show results.

    I have spent the past week sleeping in her stable so I could be on hand to assist her up when she needed it. For the first time last night she got up without needing me there. Things are looking positive that we will indeed be able to pull her through this!

  • A big Thank -You

    Thank you guys for your support in this difficult time. It's so awesome to know that there people out there that care, whether it is through words of encouragement and hope, financially, or offers of help, all of it means so much to me. I have gone from an emotional wreak, feeling stressed, and worried about being able to afford to truly give Faith the best chance of recovery. In just two day the amount of support many of you have given me have lifted that weight off my shoulders. I feel we truly do have a chance now.
