A chance for Helen, Adrian and Sam to regroup and celebrate Helen's journey back to health.
Auckland
After 9 months of gruelling treatment for cancer, Helen is finally in remission. Happy Days.
The brain surgery, chemo and stem cell transplant have all been successful but this has come at huge cost to Helen, Adrian and Sam.
These costs include the collateral damage from chemo on Helen, the damage to all of their mental health and the damage to family finances.
Helen is rising strong and beautiful from the ashes of this experience and we would like to bless her family with some rest, recovery and joy in a place that is very special to them: Orama, Great Barrier Island. There is a Summer Family Camp on there 28 Dec - 2 January.
Any funds donated on this page will go to transport to and from the Island for Helen and her family, Camp Fees and Accommodation. Any funds in excess of what is needed to achieve this for Helen and her family will be put toward their financial recovery as Helen has had to resign from her job to go through treatment and have time to recover.
Please give what you can to make this a reality for them.
Helen would also like to thank all those who have supported the family with kind words, food and care over this difficult period.
A holiday for the family after experiencing 9 months of separation, uncertainty and hardship.
Hi Peter, thanks heaps for the donation. I'm enjoying watching your retirement travels! Life is so precious and every day a gift!
Hi Lois, Thanks for this generous donation and also the beautiful card you wrote in when I was in hospital and I heard about the lemon cake too : ) I'd love to catchup again sometime in the New Year.
Thanks Noeline for you gift as well as the prayer reflections book you and Amy got for me whilst I was in hospital. Sometimes words were too hard but a picture brings such comfort. Thanks for your prayers and see you when you are up in Auckland soon.
