A fundraiser set up to help Helena and her dog Tedi recover from a traumatic dog attack, emergency vet surgeries.
Shag Point, Otago Region
This Givealittle has been set up by Megan to support her close friend Helena and her beloved dog Tedi, who have been through an incredibly tough time.
While visiting Christchurch, Tedi suffered a prolonged and traumatic attack from another dog, leaving her with serious injuries. She has since needed two major surgeries and extensive care, with vet bills exceeding $2,500 and still climbing.
To make things worse, Helena’s only vehicle was stolen recently before the attack, leaving her without transport in a rural area 45 minutes from Oamaru, the nearest vet or town. With no car, she’s had to leave her job, and all available funds have gone into saving Tedi’s life and arranging transport for her treatment.
Helena is the kind of person who gives her all to others and her community – but now she and Tedi need some support to get through this. Every little bit helps.

Tedi’s Made a Full Recovery! 💖🐾 28 July 2025
We’re so happy to share that Tedi has made a full recovery! Her scars have healed beautifully, and she just had her very first doggy wash since everything happened looking absolutely unrecognisable with her fresh fur and brand-new face-lift glow!
She’s thriving, happy, and back to her usual cheeky self maybe even a little sassier now that she knows she’s a survivor.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who donated, shared, and sent kind messages. Your support helped us get through a really tough time, and we’re beyond grateful.
Tedi sends big tail wags and kisses to you all 💕🐶
