Help Henry get back on his paws

The story of our beautiful baby who was shot,

As some of you may know our beautiful tabby cat Henry went missing on Monday night (29.01.18). Henry has always stayed close and is home by dinner time! We looked everywhere, called and called, looked around our entire neighbourhood, but still no sign of him. My fiancé and myself have never felt so down and desperate to find him or even know if he was okay. On Wednesday evening (31.01.18) I decided to call him once more before resting for the night and I heard him meow. We found him but however he could not walk and I could see that he had a broken leg.

We rushed him to the vet and we’re told that he may not make it due to his severe bruising and inflammation to his chest and spine, aswell as his fracture to his humerus bone. Henry at this stage was rolling to move, falling over and very sore. The next morning (01.02.18) I received a phone call that the X-rays also showed a bullet that was imbedded next to his fracture and that all of his injuries were a result of being shot and possibly beaten.

This afternoon we went to see our poor baby who has a heart of gold. He had bounced back miraculously and the vet was also very surprised with how hard he has fought to still be here today. Henry can now stand and go to the toilet himself, struggling using his three legs. He has not eaten however we have our hopes that he will begin to eat and drink.

Henry was shot in our neighbourhood and is still currently fighting to get better. I have owned Henry since I was 9 and saved him out of the gutter when he was a kitten. He has ever since been my one and only baby who has always comforted me when I am unwell. Henry will be undergoing surgery and will no doubt have a full miraculous recovery.

Henry and his family would appreciate any help from people in our community to help him get back on his paws and have quality of life. Henry wants to start his road to recovery and come home to his family. Anything you can spare will help pay for his vet bill and set him up for recovery in his family home.
