Henry is representing New Zealand at the Asia Oceania Floorball Confederation Cup this October, in Singapore, with the NZ Men's team!
Upper Hutt, Wellington
This is Henry Pritchard Glen, he's just turned 15, and for the past 8 years, since first playing as a year 3 for Upper Hutt School, he has had a dream… to represent New Zealand playing Floorball.
Well, that dream is now a reality! Selected as one of the youngest players ever to play for the NZ Men's Floorball Team in the Asia Oceania Floorball Confederation (AOFC) Cup to be played in Singapore in October 2023.
Henry’s passion, determination, and hard work have made this dream come true.
After his start in the Upper Hutt City Council Activation league, playing for Upper Hutt School and Maidstone Intermediate, Henry now plays competitively for the Upper Hutt Floorball Club and has represented Upper Hutt College at Nationals, where they won silver earlier this year.
Floorball NZ has little available to the team as a sport with a relatively low national profile but this is building!
All donations are welcome to support our family in funding Henry's trip to Singapore. We will continue to share updates here and on his Facebook page detailing his journey, from training harder than he has ever trained to the experience of realising a dream in Singapore the first time he stands under the New Zealand flag and hears the national anthem ring out before the first whistle!
We also have a separate page to support both Henry and his teammate Lachy that can be found here: https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/lets-help-lachy-and-henry-get-to-singapore
We are supporting Henry’s journey by raising funds to provide support toward travel, accommodation, and other team-related expenses such as uniforms, equipment, and training.
Henry has landed in Singapore! 6 October 2023
Well after a very early morning start yesterday, and a long day travelling, Henry has landed in Singapore! Thank you everyone for contributing to help get him over there ❤️. The team are all settled into their accommodation and have had their first training session in Singapore today, with also their first training game scheduled for this evening at their 9pm in an outdoor arena. A big challenge for Henry will be coping with their heat which is averaging 31 degrees each day.
Their official Official AOFC games are being live stream on Youtube - first game is this Monday at 9pm NZ time. Here is the link for you to watch and support from home :) https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4ueyt8iTm9rv0UkGS6bTVtQZ6j5DICdQ
