Raising funds for a young actor to take his hard-earned place on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Shakespeare's London and beyond!
Titirangi, Auckland
My son Hunter is a committed actor. Because of COVID-19, he's missed out on two school musicals and a number of other opportunities to take the stage in the last two years. Despite it all, he's perservered and earned a place as one of 24 members of the SGCNZ Young Shakespeare Company 2022, travelling to London for an incredible immersion into the Shakespearean world. It's an expensive trip but a priceless opportunity.
I'll let him take it from here...
Kia ora, my name is Hunter Easterbrook, and I am a young actor from Auckland, New Zealand. I am using this page to raise the funds for a once in a lifetime trip to London where, in July, myself and a group of other young Kiwis will represent New Zealand as members of the SGCNZ Young Shakespeare Company 2022.
This opportunity is a huge deal for me. It is the apex of the Shakespearean mountain I’ve been climbing through 2021 and 2022. SGCNZ puts on the incredible University of Otago Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival every year, which gives thousands of high schoolers the opportunity to perform, compete, and show their stuff on a series of stages from regionals to nationals and beyond.
I represented Avondale College on these stages in 2021 — and made it through to the lucky 24 going to London. This year, I'm starting my studies at the University of Auckland, but in July I'll be heading for London for this incredible trip.
I'll be working hard to save for the trip, but I would also appreciate any financial assistance you can provide.
I'm his proud dad and fundraising manager.

A massive thank you to you and everyone who donated to help get Hunter to The Globe in London. While the official Giveallittle didn't quite hit the target, I had some direct donations that made up the shortfall. So he's off in a few weeks to live his theatre dreams in London. He can't wait and is still a little overawed by the huge show of generosity that has helped send him on his way.
Thank you!
