Please Donate to help ill kiwi kids in hospital keep warm this winter

Hi, my names Ruby and am 14 years old.

A few months ago my life was turned upside down when I was admitted to Wellington Children's Hospital with bradycardia along with hypothermia. This was a very difficult time for my family and I, as weeks past I saw others return home. But as my condition still stayed life threading to my health I had to stay. After a 1 month and 20 days it was my time to say goodbye to the friendly, kind and loving faces of the nursing team in Children's ward 2.

I am now back to school full time, being able to do small activities on the weekends with my friends + family with life slowly returning to normal. I now believe it is my time to give back to those who made this possible for me and to help those kids who are in the same or similar position I was back in February!

I am doing this by fundraising funds from this page with my close friend Charlotte, all of which will go towards buying flannelette pj's for the Wellington Children's Hospital winter appeal. I thought this was the best way to do it as the hospital sees a significant increase in the number of children who are admitted to hospital over these upcoming winter months, and many of the children come in without a pair of pyjamas to wear. For many Wellington families in need, the simple act of having warm pyjamas and heating their home is more than they can afford! so donating even just $20 that will allow me to buy 1 pair of pyjamas for a child in desperate need and can help them from being admitted in hospital as I was!

Clinical Nurse Specialist at Wellington Regional Children’s Hospital, Charlotte Stanczuk said, “This appeal will make a significant difference this winter for the many children who come to the hospital. We also have a significant number of sick children in our care who are seen at home by our community nurses, and we want to help them also"

We hope to reach our goal but both understand that every cent counts to help these ill kids and every donation no matter how small can and will make a difference to their lives.
