Supporting one of my best friends to fight cancer.
Christchurch, Canterbury
Imogen is an incredible wife, mother of four, grandmother of three, and a devoted nurse who has spent more than 17 years caring for others in both community and aged care nursing.
In 2021, Imogen was diagnosed with breast cancer after discovering a lump herself. She underwent surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and ongoing hormone therapy, facing every challenge with courage and determination while continuing to care for her family and support others around her.
In late 2025, after being told she was cancer free, Imogen received the devastating news that her cancer had returned as Stage 4 triple negative breast cancer — an aggressive and rare subtype that has spread to her spine and pelvis. Despite the immense emotional and physical toll, Imogen continues to work, love fiercely, and fight with incredible resilience.
Her current treatment options in New Zealand are extremely limited, and life-extending medication available overseas comes with overwhelming costs. Imogen now faces not only the fight for her life, but also the financial burden of accessing treatment that could give her more precious time with her husband, children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
Anyone who knows Imogen knows she is one of the most caring, genuine, and giving people you could ever meet. After dedicating her life to helping others, it is now our turn to help support her through this unimaginable journey.
