At the beginning of this year, my daughter Iyla poured her heart and soul into crafting her portfolio to apply for the renowned Interlochen Centre for the Arts in Michigan, USA. Interlochen offers a summer boarding program for young creatives from all over the world, and with a mere 6% acceptance rate, it’s a rare and incredible opportunity.

While Iyla was awarded a merit scholarship and some financial aid, the total cost of attending Interlochen is significant. The tuition alone is $5,586, and we estimate $2,000 for flight expenses, bringing the total to $8,500.
