Help countertenor Jack Doyle begin a Master’s at the Royal College of Music
Auckland
This September I will be moving to London to begin a Master of Performance in Vocal Studies at the Royal College of Music.
Over the past year, my singing journey has taken an unexpected turn. I made the decision to transition from baritone to countertenor - a change that was both exciting and honestly quite scary. It meant rebuilding parts of my technique, learning completely new repertoire, and stepping into unfamiliar territory. But it has also been one of the most rewarding artistic decisions I’ve made.
With the guidance of incredible teachers and mentors at University of Auckland and the wonderful tutors at New Zealand Opera School, I’ve been able to gain the confidence to pursue this path.
Being accepted into the Royal College of Music feels like an extraordinary opportunity at such an important moment in my development. It will allow me to refine my voice, perform regularly, and learn from world-class musicians.
However, moving to London to pursue further training comes with significant costs, including tuition, travel, and living expenses.
If you are able to support my journey in any way, I would be incredibly grateful. Every contribution, big or small, will help me continue developing as an artist and take this next step in my career.
Thank you so much for being part of this journey.
