Jacob is an amazing young man who needs a helping hand to get to his educational goal.
Canterbury
Jacob has overcome a great deal in his 21 years. He has developmental dyspraxia and learning difficulties. Jacob was raised in state care for the majority of his childhood. During this time he was sexually abused.
He left school at 14 years old with no qualifications.
Jacob could have become a welfare statistic but through his own determination he has completed National Certificate in Hospitality level 1 and 2, New Zealand Certificate in Food and Beverage with barista strands level 3 and New Zealand Certificate in Tourism, Hotel and Airline Operations level 4. When he gets back to NZ Jacob will get his New Zealand Diploma in Hotel and Hospitality Management level 5.
Jacob has worked graveyard shifts at a local restaurant every weekend while studying to save for this exchange. As time is drawing near he is still a bit short on the funds to get him there and he needs your help.
This isn’t a case of him putting his hand out and asking for help. He has worked so hard and is so close.
I have known Jacob for several years through The Dyspraxia Support Group of NZ. He is an inspiring young man who deserves a break in life.
Money raised will go towards the final amount needed for airfares and getting set up in America. Any surplus will be donated to The Dyspraxia Support Group of NZ
