I'm running the Auckland half marathon to raise money for students from the Shimshal community in Northern Pakistan.
International
A couple of years ago, my partner, Helen, and I visited Shimshal in Northern Pakistan. The people we met there showed us an incredible amount of kindness, and now we wish to return the favour by helping to raise funds for the community's young people.
The Shimshal Trust is a NZ-based organisation that funds scholarships to help students from Shimshal with financial need and promising ability. These scholarships allow the students to attend high school or university, or participate in teacher and vocational training in larger cities in Pakistan. The Trust has a special focus on supporting female students, although male students are also funded.
For more information about the Trust, you can visit the Trust's website, or read the fundraising document in following link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/10TQudPhSSc1Nfcq2TWWxlEu5gA-mHeDW/view?usp=sharing
I will be running the Auckland half marathon on the 1st of November to raise money for the Shimshal Trust.
