The Shimshal Trust raises funds for academic scholarships for young people from Shimshal in Northern Pakistan.

The aim of the Trust is to fund scholarships to help students from Shimshal with financial need and promising ability. These scholarships allow them to attend high school or university, or participate in teacher and vocational training in larger cities in Pakistan.
The Trust has a special focus on supporting female students, although male students are also funded to a lesser extent. The focus on female education is based on the research that indicates high social returns on investments in female education, especially in developing nations.
Every year, the Trust receives scholarship applications from Shimshali Students. In 2019, the Trust received 25 applications. In order to be eligible for a scholarship, students must be able to prove their enrolment at a school or university. In 2020, over 40 application were received.
Shimshal is a small community situated in the in the Karakoram Mountains of Northern Pakistan.
