Support Jemma, Ryan and Charlotte during this difficult time.
Auckland
* Edit: 19 May:
It is with great sadness that I have to let you know that Jemma and Ryan's doctors made the decision yesterday not to continue with Jemma's next round of treatment. She had her latest tests on Friday and her cancer has progressed to a point where they feel that treatment is no longer an option - the timeline they have given her is now days where we thought we had months or even years.
Jem will remain at home in palliative care for as long as is possible. Jemma and Ryan are still processing this themselves and are truly sorry if you had to hear it here rather than from them directly.
They have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from you all.
I am going to keep this page open and I am converting the page to be for donations for Jem, Ry and Char for any expenses that they incur over this time.
Thank you all again for your love and support - I will be passing all of your messages on to them when they are in a place to receive them.
Big love
Lynette

Jemma was diagnosed just over a year ago with breast cancer which then spread to her bones, liver and now a rare cancer called Leptomeningeal disease which occurs when cancer cells migrate from your breast to your cerebrospinal fluid (the liquid that circulates nutrients and chemicals to the brain and spinal cord)
Jemma has undergone countless treatments and her health insurance allowance has been exhausted and will only be topped up in September. Between now and September she needs to have $40,000 worth of treatments that she and her partner Ryan will have to pay for themselves.
Jemma and her family will be under massive financial stress and pressure that she, Ryan and their 13 year old daughter Charlotte just shouldn't have to deal with. That's where we can help just a little by making a small/large donation towards her plight.
If you know Jem at all you will know how hard it was for her to agree to this page and that she would only do it as a last resort - please give what you can and help support her through this.
Jemma is one of my bestfriends - she is one of the kindest, most down to earth people I've ever known and I'm just devastated for her and her little family.
The money will be solely for Jemma to survive while going through this terrible ordeal and her cost of treatment.
