Please help Jocelyn get to her mum.
Bay of Plenty
Kia Ora Friends, Whānau, and Community,
I’m setting up this page on behalf of my dear friend Jocelyn, who needs to travel to Florida to support her elderly mother.
Her mum and stepfather have both recently been injured and required hospitalization. While mum is physically on the mend, she is dealing with trauma and is not coping well. Jocelyn is hoping to help her navigate what is proving to be a difficult US system and help her mum with decisions for her husband's future care.
In September, Jocelyn plans to travel from New Zealand to Florida to spend a month by her mum’s side, offering the support and love she so desperately needs. This is not a trip Jocelyn had planned for, and the financial cost is significant. She needs around $4,500 to cover flights and related travel expenses.
If you’re able, please consider contributing to help ease this burden and allow Jocelyn to focus on what matters most—being there for her mum. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference and will be received with deep gratitude.
Thank you for your kindness and support during this difficult time.
With appreciation,
Carole

Update from Jocelyn 8 September 2025
I am so incredibly grateful for the outpouring of love and support through your generous donations. Your kindness has truly lifted a huge weight during an overwhelming time.
Because of you, the plane ticket is booked, and airport transfers are sorted—what a relief to have those logistics taken care of!
Currently, my stepfather has been moved from hospital to a care home just 12 minutes away from my mother, which allows her to visit and stay connected. She’s still in the process of healing and, for the first time in her life, is transitioning to living on her own. It’s a big adjustment, but one she’s approaching with a lot of courage under the circumstances .
I’m looking forward to being there soon—to care for her, love on her, and simply be present. Years of caregiving have left her burned out and this time together feels like such a gift. One I couldn’t do without your help.
My brother was able to spend two weeks with our parents and has since returned home, so we’re tag-teaming this effort to support them both as best we can.
Thank you again—your support means more than words can express. 💛 My mom has also asked me to say how thankful and absolutely blown away she is by everyone’s support of our family. It has taken such a weight off her shoulders.
God bless and thank you.
Jocelyn
Note from Carole: I would love for Jocelyn to receive further donations as her day to day costs while in America won't be small. Please share this page with others. Thanks so much!
