Helping Joe enjoy more time with his family

Wellington

Joe has been an invaluable member of The English Craftsman team since early 2022 and all our clients love his cheerful and professional character.

In late 2024 he was diagnosed with late stage throat cancer and has to have his esophagus removed. He now breathes through a tube in his throat, but it didn't stop him returning to full time work. He has no life assurance and as he has not been in NZ for log enough, he doesn't qualify for any WINZ subsidies.

Sadly the cancer returned recently and Joe has undergone another major surgery. He has a 20% chance of surviving 2 years.

We'd like to raise some funds to help Joe, his wife Claire and their son Tyler (12) enjoy some time together without the burden of having to earn a steady income. Even if we can cover some days off to spend together, that would be great.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
