This is John my beloved father in law. Within the year he has become a double amputee below the knee. He lives in the Solomon Islands and we live in New Zealand with covid making it difficult to travel to help him. In the Solomon Islands there is very little access to mobility equipment and little chance of getting prosthetics as there only prothetic centre closed down due to an unsafe building. He has 3 boys under 12 to care for. We are raising money to get a decent mobility scooter and mobility/rehab equipment so he can have some independence and move around his home. We also wish to help others over in the solomons who have lost independence through amputations and inadequate health care.

We are raising money to get a decent mobility scooter and mobility equipment so he can have some independence and move around. Any additional funds will be donated to assist others in the Solomons to gain access to mobility equipment.

Johns passing 11 September 2021
It is with great sadness we share that John is no longer with us. A scooter did make its way to the solomons.the family would like to express any thanks to all the generous donations and wish to use the money left to support and adopt Dads youngest boys Shane Scotty and Stephen.We understand that this is not what the money was initially intended for but we expected Dad to be with us a lot longer. If anyone objects please let us know . Thank you all.
