Help Johnny, Ayşe & Their Boys Through the Unthinkable

  • A Heartfelt Update

      1 March 2026

It is with the deepest sadness that we share that Johnny passed away peacefully on Wednesday, surrounded by his loved ones.

After such a courageous and incredibly hard-fought journey, Johnny is now at rest. Throughout his illness he showed immense strength, determination, and love for his family — qualities that never wavered, even in the most difficult moments.

While hearts are broken, there is comfort in knowing he was surrounded by love until the very end.

On behalf of Ayşe and the family, we want to thank every single person who supported them throughout this journey — through donations, meals, messages, prayers, and kindness. Your generosity helped ease an unimaginable burden and allowed them to focus on what mattered most: time together as a family.

Your compassion has meant more than words can express, and the love shown through this community has carried them through their darkest days.

For those who have asked how they can continue to support the family during this time, the Givealittle page has now been extended for anyone who wishes to contribute or share their support.

Please continue to keep Ayşe and the boys in your thoughts as they begin to navigate life without their beloved husband and father.

    With heartfelt gratitude 🤍

  • An update from Ayse on Johnny's cancer diagnosis.

      20 January 2026

Over seven months ago we were told Johnny was terminal, with six weeks to live. After four rounds of chemotherapy, the cancer that had spread in four places stopped. Johnny's incredible strength and determination played a big part of that I am certain. His primary tumour unfortunately continues to grow, so the next part of his plan is radiotherapy which begins this week. This will simply give him more time with us. Thank you to everyone that has prayed for us, donated to our Give a Little, or sent us nourishing meals. We are all endlessly grateful to you all 🕊️

Is there a way to update your story and re-open your page?

  • Update on Johnny’s surgery

      23 September 2025

A quick update: Johnny will have a blood transfusion and then his hip replacement surgery will go ahead. The cancer has been significantly reduced due to chemotherapy and could remain dormant for 6 months or even longer! Really positive news for us today, thank you all for your support and prayers during this time x

  • Chemotherapy and Surgery Update

      12 August 2025
    Main image

Johnny is just about to complete his third round of chemotherapy. He has been incredibly brave & positive however the days after chemo are the most challenging. Johnny will have one more round of chemotherapy after this one and then reconstructive surgery of the hip where the largest amount of cancer has caused a painful fracture. After this surgery he will hopefully be able to walk again and get back on the boat for one last trip on the water.

If you are able to share this Give A Little page it helps a great deal and is very much appreciated.

Kindest wishes and thank you again each and every one of you for your kindness in supporting this beautiful family.
