Help Joss's cancer treatment

  • Help Joss’s Cancer Treatment

      8 August 2025

    Hi all

We are drawing close to our nominated close date (22 August)for the request for support so I thought I would give one last update on how Joss is going. Our last visit to the oncologist confirmed that the treatment is working in that the cancer is being held. This is great news compared to what we have heard previously. How long this will last is not known but for now we keep the treatment going until it stops working ( which unfortunately will happen at some point). We are hoping the current state will last for a good length of time. Joss has lost quite a lot of weight and still suffers ongoing side affects of the chemo drugs ( upset stomach) but being the trooper she is, she is managing this as best she can - while still maintaining that positive view of life. I am in awe of her strength.

With the blessing of our doctors we are heading to Oz next week for 10 days to catch up with family. We are both looking forward to a change in scenery.

Finally I would like to say a big thank you to all of you who have responded to this page. Your love, support and generosity have meant so much to both of us and has helped us manage a tough situation, comforted by the knowledge that so many people care for us.

    God bless and thank you

    Hi team

Just a quick update on how Joss is going. She had another scan a couple of weeks ago and the doctors are thrilled with what they saw - the cancer cells in her lungs are dying and her pelvic bone seems to be repairing itself. This means the treatment is working and the body’s immune system has been fired up and is fighting the cancer. There is no new growth and the main area of cancer around her uterus is holding. This is the best news we have had and the doctors are cautiously saying we could be looking at joss being with us for longer than the 1-2 years originally indicated. The treatments will continue for as long as they are working and Joss can cope with the side affects. She is having quite a few issues with stomach upsets but the docs are hopeful that adjusting the strength of the red daily cancer drug this will become more manageable.Once again thank you all for support - it means a lot to us.

    Hi team

Once again thank you all so much for your care, love and support. We had a meet with our oncologist today to discuss the latest scan that Joss had last week. We got great news. The treatment is working and joss’s immune system is kicking in. The tumours in her lungs are being attacked and are dying. The bone cancer in her pelvis is self repairing. There is no new growth. There is no cure but the option of having joss with us for a longer period of time is a real possibility now. From here we carry on with the treatment and hope for more good news

I just wanted to once again thank all of you who have supported Joss with your kind thoughts and generosity. Joss is doing ok in terms of coping with the treatment , albeit with some unpleasant side affects - but the good news is she is able to continue with the treatment at this stage. We have another scan in a few weeks which will hopefully show that the treatment is holding the cancer at bay

    Cheers

    Kevin

Hi team we met the oncologist last week. They are happy with how Joss is handling the treatment, confirmed that the cancer has been held ( stable is the word they have used) and treatment will continue. Joss will have a further CAT scan after two more treatments and doctors and us are hoping for a continuation or improvement of the current situation.

Once again thank you so much for you love , kind wishes and support

    Kev and Joss
