Help Julian Represent New Zealand at the Cal Ripken World Series!

$5,021 of $5,000 goal
Given by 58 generous donors in around 4 months

Help Julian play in the 2025 Cal Ripken World Series.

Nelson / Tasman

We are beyond proud that our son Julian has been selected to represent New Zealand for the 2025 Pac-Men 12U team to compete at the Cal Ripken World Series—a once in a lifetime opportunity to play baseball on the world stage in his birth country, the United States!

Julian’s love for baseball began when he was just 6 years old, playing tee-ball and little league in Hopkins, Minnesota. He was fortunate to continue his baseball journey when we moved to Nelson New Zealand where he now proudly plays for the Nelson Heat. Now, he has the chance to compete against some of the best young players from around the world. This truly is an opportunity of a lifetime.

This is an epic trip! They fly to Dallas and spend 5 days scrimmaging against local Texan junior teams. Then team will drive 6 hrs to Branson, MO where they will compete in the Southern Cross Pac-Men 12U Major70 Cal Ripken World Series.

We are reaching out to our amazing friends and family for support. Funds raised will go toward Julian's travel expenses (it's a long way to Branson from NZ), accommodation, meals, uniforms, equipment and tournament fees.

Every contribution, big or small, brings Julian one step closer to making this dream a reality. If you’re not able to donate, sharing this with your network would mean the world to us.

Thank you for believing in Julian and supporting this incredible journey!

A Huge Thank You!!  25 August 2025

Well, here we are back in sunny Nelson. After three days of jet lag and dozing off at work, I can finally say we are home safe and sound with Jess and Emerald.

This trip was truly magical. From the fanfare and opening ceremony to the gametime hakas, the mix of cultures, conversations in many languages, trading of pins, and sharing of worldly customs and goodwill - Julian’s trip to Branson, Missouri was an overwhelming success.

The team pulled together through thick and thin, battling countries from all over the world. They learned from every game, made new friends along the way, and did New Zealand proud. The team were honoured with the Heart of the Babe Award for Sportsmanship—a celebration of resilience and spirit at the 12U World Series.

On his journey, Julian not only got to play ball, watch Major and Minor League games, and learn what it means to represent his team, himself, and his country with pride—he also discovered what it’s like to be surrounded by amazing people who care. Most importantly, he got to share the field with kids from around the world, all being rewarded for following their dreams through playing a game they love.

We'd like to offer a heartfelt thank you . We couldn't have done it with out your generous support!

Warm regards,

Julian, Emerald, Jess and Dean —thank you.
