Juno has been home for just over a week now and is doing well in many ways — she’s more relaxed in her familiar space, enjoying cuddles, short outdoor breaks, and the comfort of being with her people again.

But despite all the progress, we’ve had some hard news: the nasal stents that were placed earlier in her journey have ultimately failed, and Juno is still suffering from significant stenosis (narrowing of the nasal passages). This means her ability to breathe freely through her nose is still compromised.

Right now, we’re working closely with her care team to figure out next steps. Another specialist consult is likely, and more treatment may be required. While it’s discouraging to face this setback after everything she’s been through, we remain focused on giving Juno every chance at a full and happy life.

Your support has carried us through so many tough moments. We can’t thank you enough for being part of her journey — please keep sharing her story and sending love her way.

Our brave girl is finally home and is already so much more relaxed in her familiar surroundings. It’s been such a joy to see her settle in after everything she’s been through.

In true Juno style, she decided to celebrate her return by finally starting to eat on her own. Never a dull moment with this little fighter.

Today she spent her first day with Lonay, a local vet nurse who has kindly offered to take care of her while we’re at work. We’re beyond grateful for the love and support that continues to surround Juno and our family.

This is a huge win and brings a whole new wave of hope for her recovery. Thank you for being part of Juno’s recovery community. 💛

Juno continues to amaze us with her progress — her neurologist is very pleased with how far she’s come!

She’s walking better each day, showing more head movement, and is far more alert and engaged with the world around her. She’s even started growling at other dogs again — a sign her cheeky spirit is returning.

She is now receiving 100% of her required daily nutrition through her feeding tube, and she’s tolerating it really well, which is helping to maintain her condition and support her recovery. She’s also started chewing on her soft toy, and is going to the toilet on her own — all fantastic milestones.

She still tires easily, but she’s fighting hard. If she keeps progressing at this rate, there’s a chance she may be able to come home on Monday.

We’re so proud of our little fighter. Thank you all for continuing to follow her journey — please keep sharing her story, sending love, and cheering her on 💛

  • Juno is winning the battle!!

Our Miss Juno is resilient and has shown us how determined she is to get home to do doggy stuff with bestie sister Yoko! It’s very important for her to make her mum and dad proud!

Sadly she can’t contribute to the Vet bill other than getting better quickly or becoming a doggy influencer!!

She wants to thank everyone for the support, donations and good wishes she has received. She wanted to pull through to make everyone proud!

Oh, one more thing! She just wanted to ask if you can donate a little bit more to help with the Vet bill so her parents, her biggest supporters, don’t have to stress!

Over the weekend, Juno made a huge leap in her recovery — she stood up on her own and even took a few steps! She continues to amaze everyone with her determination and spirit, and has officially become a little superstar here.

She’s now off all her aids, with only the feeding tube remaining — as she’s still on and off her food, it’s important we maintain her condition while she builds strength.

Thanks to this incredible progress, we can now start to formulate a plan to get Juno home.

A huge thank you to Villa One on Fitzherbert — Stef and Hazel, your hospitality and kindness mean the world. To the amazing team at Massey ICU — I would love to name you all, but there are just too many of you! Your care, compassion, and dedication have meant everything. To Sarah for helping out on her days off, Jiah for going above and beyond, Jo for your unwavering support, and to everyone who has donated, followed Juno’s story, progress, and sent love — we’re so grateful. Your support is lifting her, and us, every single day xxx

We’re so happy to share some hopeful news — Juno is making real progress!

She’s now off oxygen, her catheter has been removed, and the biggest win of all: she’s started eating on her own! We couldn’t be prouder of her for finding the strength to keep pushing forward.

We’ve now started intensive rehab. Juno still isn’t able to walk or stand unassisted, but she’s determined — wriggling herself around in circles and even managing to toilet on her own (mostly!). It’s messy, it’s tiring, but it’s progress — and we’ll take every step forward we can get.

The road ahead is still long and uncertain, but these milestones are giving us hope. Thank you so much for continuing to support, donate, and share Juno’s story. We truly couldn’t do this without you.

Please keep sharing her story — she’s fighting so hard, and your love is helping carry her through. 💛

  • Baby Bear is still battling

Our little baby bear has continued to make very small progress steps. She has shown such a will to make it and we are so very proud of her trying her best.

She can now breath on her own (so the oxygen supplement to keep her oxygen saturation up has stopped). She is no longer sedated so is more alert more often. Because of this she does not need quite so intensive 100% one on one monitoring. The team are now taking her outside more often and working with her to try to stimulate some more movement.

This morning her Dad rubbed chicken over his fingers and she just loved licking the taste off them. It was good to see her consciously doing this. A couple of days ago she couldn't.

Her condition remains very very serious and we are working to make sure we give her every chance to continue to improve. Your love and donations are huge in making this possible and we really don't know how to thank you. You can be sure we have read out all of your notes to her.

The photo in the background by the way is not photoshopped. She is genuinely showing her pearly-whites, and without a word of a lie it was after saying "smile for the camera" to her back in August last year. I kid you not.

  • Monday was a big day

Juno had a settled day on Sunday, even managing a short trip outside for some fresh air and a change of scenery. It was a special moment in what’s been a very challenging time.

Monday was a big day. After doing her best to eat over the weekend, it became clear her little tummy just couldn’t process food due to gut stasis. The difficult but necessary decision was made to go ahead with inserting a feeding tube — and thankfully, she tolerated the general anaesthetic well. A urinary catheter was also placed to help support her recovery and comfort.

She also developed an ulcer in her left eye due to not being able to blink properly. The team has treated it and temporarily sutured her eye closed to give it the best chance of healing.

We’re so grateful for every message, donation, and share. Your support is helping give Juno the very best chance possible. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

Please keep sharing her story — she still has a long road ahead, but your love is carrying her through. 💛

  • Juno is still fighting for her life in ICU at Massey Vets

      20 May 2025

Juno has had to have another operation to install a feeding tube. She is showing signs of recognition with her owners, wagging her tail and trying to get up. ICU fees are $1000 a day so the bill is mounting. This is Kelsey and Wade's baby, she is a fighter and they are fighting for her! Please, please donate to help this poor family.

  • Another little step

Juno is still in a ketosis state, but we’ve seen a positive shift: she’s now being syringe fed 7ml every two hours — and she’s tolerating it well, sometimes even wanting more.

That said, we’re still in a delicate place. The left side of her brain isn’t functioning properly, and that remains a serious concern. She still requires one-on-one, around-the-clock care

Thank you for continuing to stand by Juno. Your support is helping give her a fighting chance.

Please keep sharing her story. She needs all the love she can get.

  • It’s the little wins that count

Today brought a few small but hopeful steps forward for our little June Bug.

When we arrived at Massey this morning, she wagged her tail for the first time since the stroke — a tiny gesture, but a huge moment for us. 💛

Even more encouraging, she’s started to regain a slight swallowing reflex. Because of this progress, the team is holding off on inserting a feeding tube for now. Instead, they’ll try syringe feeding her over the weekend and reassess on Monday.

These are just little wins, but they give us hope. Juno is still fighting — and we’re so grateful for all of your love, support, and donations helping her along the way.

Please keep sharing her story. She’s not out of the woods yet, but today reminded us that even the smallest signs of progress are worth celebrating.

  • Juno has suffered a stroke

      15 May 2025

While attempting to reinsert her nasal stent under general anaesthetic, Juno experienced a serious complication. The procedure is believed to have caused a blood clot that traveled to her brainstem, resulting in a stroke.

She has since lost movement in her tongue and is currently unable to swallow. Her specialist team is hopeful she may regain enough movement and cognitive function to keep pushing forward and return to a happy, comfortable life. If there’s no improvement by Friday, they’ll need to insert a feeding tube to support her recovery.

This is another heartbreaking setback in Juno’s journey, but we’re not giving up. She’s still fighting—and so are we.

Thank you for your continued support, love, and donations. Every dollar truly makes a difference.
