Chemo isn't working anymore and Justins cancer is growing bigger and stronger, and we have to start a second round of unfunded treatment
Auckland
On the 25/02/2020 Justin's life was turned upside down when he got diagnosed with Mucinous adenocarcinoma of appendix, metastatic appendices in peritoneal (cancer) at the age of 33. He is a father of two beautiful girls aged 2 and 4 and is a loving husband of 3 years.
He has gone through 22 rounds of chemo already as well as completed a huge 13 hour HIPEC operation at Waikato hospital where they removed half his bowl, his spleen, gallbladder shaved his liver and diafram and had a hot chemo put in his abdomen.
Justin and his family have already paid out 10s of thousands of dollars already on Avastin (a unfunded drug). This was the family house deposit to get their family home as well as selling a few assets they had. Unfortunately the chemo and Avastin is not working at they need to change the treatment path. There is another unfunded drug he can try but it cost twice as much as the one they are already on. This has put a lot of pressure on there young family as due to side effects of chemo Justin struggles to preform his job (plumber) and he is an owner operator.
Justin has come along way in his journey so far and we need help to get other this next hurdle. He wants too see his girls start school ,learn to drive a car and success in their life. He is not done being a loving dad, husband, friend, uncle, brother.
Since meeting Justin he has become so much more then just a friend, he has become family, he has become a mentor to me throughout my plumbing career and my life so far, I've been by his side through this whole journey so far and will till we beat it
Every cent will be going towards funding for Encorafenib with cetuximab witch is a unfounded treatment
