Helping Kat through as she has a tumour removed from her neck.
Wellington
Hi, this is our Sister Kat,
She is about to have surgery to remove a benign tumour from her neck. It’s called a schwannoma and it grows from a nerve, in the body.
In her case its growing from the vagus nerve in her neck, which is really rare.
Because her tumour is rare she has to go have her surgery in Auckland, as the ENT doctor there is the only one that can do it in New Zealand. The tumour has heavily impacted her health and it has got to come out.
It’s a big surgery, with risks and the recovery time will be at least six weeks, for some of which she will be having to stay in the hospital in Auckland, until she’s recovered enough to travel back to Wellington.
This incurs costs for her and her Husband, with not only their normal weekly expenses and bills, but also travel costs and expenses they incur while up in Auckland.
Her Husband will be up in Auckland supporting her with the surgery, so won’t be able to be working during that time. She also won’t be allowed to work until she is fully recovered.
This money will help them during this time, that they didn’t expect to have to be experiencing, and give them peace of mind that things are covered while they walk this journey.
Every little bit of money will help.
Thanks so much for your support!
Kat is our Sister/ Sister in law.
The money will be used for day to day living expenses & bills, as well as travel costs and expenses incurred while up in Auckland for the surgery, while they both are not working and away from home.
Kat has had surgery 1 March 2023
On Sunday Kat along with her husband started the journey up to Auckland in preparation for her surgery.
This afternoon she had the surgery and the Doctor has said it went well.
She of course has a long road of recovery ahead of her and we want to support her in the best possible way.
We are all grateful for the donations that have been given so far, but still have a way to go to meet the goal.
Every little bit helps Kat snd the d lenses she faces during her time of recovery.
Please consider donating and or sharing the page around to help us meet the goal.
Thanks for contributing and helping Kat in the journey of recovery
