Keep Euan employed and help break down barriers keeping people with disabilities out of meaningful employment.
Saint Albans, Christchurch
Euan is employed by the St Albans Residents Association (SARA) to work alongside the volunteers involved in Sustainable St Albans projects. These projects aim to improve food resilience, reduce waste and improve the local natural and built environments.
Euan brings skills he has gained through his L3 Horticultural Certificate and is passionate about bringing people into the community garden and getting them involved in projects. His aim is to produce as much fresh produce as possible to distribute within the community.
Euan has cerebral palsy, a physical disability that has thrown up barriers that have kept him out of the workforce since 2011. With the support of Skillwise and SARA along Euan's determination and persistence he is successfully re-entering the workforce and is loving it. We are all very proud of his successes and with your support Euan can continue to enjoy a flexible working life and continue to champion the need for more meaningful and accessible employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
The St Albans Residents Association (SARA) Inc is a proactive community development organisation, established in 1998. It has been working to make St Albans a vibrant and healthy community through involvement and empowerment of St Albans residents.
The money raised will go towards increasing Euan's work hours up to 15 hours per week. The St Albans Residents Association (SARA) currently employs Euan for 5 hours.
