Help keep Lwamba's Olympic dream alive!
Nationwide
Hi everyone,
My name is Lwamba Chileshe, and I’m proud to be New Zealand’s current national squash champion. Squash has been my passion and life’s work, and I’m working tirelessly to achieve my dream of representing New Zealand at the 2028 Olympic Games.
However, I recently lost my funding from Squash New Zealand, leaving me in a tough position. To compete at the highest level on the PSA squash tour, I need to stay based in the UK, where the competition is strongest, and the opportunities to grow as a player are unparalleled. Unfortunately, the financial demands of this journey—rent, food, coaching, and travel to tournaments—far exceed what I can earn through prize money, especially as it’s not until players reach the PSA top 30 that earnings become sustainable.
This is where I need your help. By supporting my fundraiser, you’ll be helping me cover the essential costs of training, living, and competing, so I can continue to pursue my goals. Every dollar raised brings me one step closer to staying on the tour, improving my game, and ultimately achieving the honor of representing New Zealand on the world’s biggest stage.
Thank you so much for considering supporting my journey. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a huge difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page with your network would mean the world to me.
Let’s make this dream a reality together.
Lwamba.
All the money will go towards my cost of living i.e. rent, food etc. and also costs related to getting to and from tournaments, as well as coaching costs.
