A young South African family of 7, financially impacted by Covid19 are raising funds to extend work visas before August 2021
Auckland
The Davids family are a young South African family of 7 who moved to New Zealand in August 2019 in search of a better life. They settled well, and integrated into their community fairly quickly. Their three older children have adjusted very well into school and have made many new friends. They are an active family and enjoy the freedom and safety of their lives here.
When Covid-19 hit last year, the family faced financial challenges when Yusuf, father and sole provider was forced to take a pay cut when his hours were reduced significantly. This had a major impact on keeping up with their day to day living expenses and soon escalated to a diminishing savings account. This savings was set aside to cover their residency application and interim work and school visas.
They now face the grim possibility of uprooting their family and returning to South Africa without jobs or a home. We are appealing to you to donate generously towards their residency and visa costs, to help keep the Davids family in New Zealand.
I am a friend of the family and know them to be hardworking, upstanding, family orientated people able to make a great contribution to our Kiwi community.
