  • Thank you for your kindness!

I just wanted to take this opportunity and update you on what is happening with Khalima's treatment.

She has gone through 8 cycles of chemotherapy now and is due for her final scan, which will be performed on 27th of August.

If the tumor is small enough to perform radiofrequency ablation procedure, which basically microwaves the remaining cancer cells, then we will be looking into doing that.

Thanks to your kindness this would be possible as a future treatment for Khalima.

On behalf on our family we wanted to tank you for your support and kindness through this difficult time.

The Givealittle page is now closed but please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly if you want an update. We are always happy to hear from you.

    Good luck and be well!

    Thank you,

    Bibigul, Khalima and family

  • Second round of chemotherapy

      6 March 2021

    Hi everyone!

Hope you are doing great! Today New Zealand's coastline had 3 big earthquakes and tsunami warning, as far as I know nobody was hurt and everything is alright! I hope you all staying safe in your homes.

I translated what my mom wanted to say for this update:

"I started the second round of chemotherapy.

When I was going through the first round of chemotherapy I was slightly panicking, didn't know what to expect.

Doctor has noted all the side-effects that I had and replace some anti-nasea medication with other and added some medication for nausea and better sleep.

Now I am feel more calm, hopefully my body will cope with medicational load.

My oncologist previously worked in UK, he is very attentive young man, asking to tell him about even slightest discomfort in the body. He tells me that this is very important for the correct treatment.

    Thank God!"

Thank you all for your support!

    Love,

    Khalima and Bibi

  • Finishing first round of chemotherapy!

There are situations in life when you discover how kind and supportive humans can be.

The power of support gave my mom strength to keep going with her treatment. I am not talking about monetary value but the gesture of donation for my moms treatment.

The treatment can be harsh on your body. It makes your body weak and your mind vulnerable.

However, the support that we receiving from everywhere is something extraordinary.

It showed us that we are not alone in this world and it is worth fighting this cancer to continue living.

I wish I could explain you how much we appreciate the kind wishes and thoughts that you leave with your comments.

My mom is finishing her first cycle of chemotherapy and will have a week off medications before the next round that is scheduled on the 4th of March.

We want to thank you for your support and let you know that her second round of treatment is being covered with your kind donations.

    Hope you all doing great!

Thanks to your kind donations and words of support Khalima started her treatment on 11th of February.

Now we have to do 2 weeks on and 1 week off medications.

She is doing considerably well but has some side-effects which are expected when taking such a strong treatment.

She is waving you hello with her white cotton gloves as she can't touch any cold surfaces. Tiredness and fatigue are quite normal as well.

I am hoping that her body is strong enough to handle the drugs and fight this cancer!

Next round of the chemotherapy scheduled on 4th of March!

Just wanted to thank you all again and wish you all the best in the year of Ox!

Thank you everyone for your donations and wishes!

Mom is doing okay so far and staying positive.

The main side effects of the treatment are diarrhoea and vomiting, some other side effects can be hair fall, skin sensitivity.

Hope mom will stay strong and the treatment will help her to destroy the cancer cells!

We are going to start the first round of chemotherapy on the 11th of February and I will post another update after that.

Big thank you to all of you! My mom is very thankful and amazed that people are so kind and supportive.

P.S. On the side note, my mom has been enjoying cuddles with her newborn grandson Ozias who was born on the 8th of January.

  • It is colon cancer!

      1 February 2021

Thank you everyone who donated to support my mom!

As you might be aware that doctors early diagnosis was primary liver cancer but post-biopsy we discovered that it is colon cancer that spread to liver and lymph node.

Mom has been given a treatment plan and we need to do 8 cycles that will cost $21680!

The treatment needs to start urgently as cancer is progressing and it is spread to the main organ already.

    Please help if you can!

    Stay safe and healthy!

    Much love,

    Bibi and Khalima

  • We finally going to see oncologist!

      10 December 2020

Thank you so much, everyone, for your kind wishes and donations.

We have been going back and forth with what should we do with mom's treatment.

We nearly went overseas, however with the situation with COVID is quite tricky in the other parts of the world.

After we have seen Dr Wicks, who is a liver surgeon at Wakefield Hospital.

We have been told that operation can't be done at this point because thecancer spread to the lymph node and most likely we would need chemotherapy.

At this stage, we have been referred to Dr David Okonji at Bowen's Cancer Center. We going to see him on 17th of December.

Hopefully, we can start treatment before Christmas.

Once again, thank you so much for your support, it means a lot to our family!

My mom staying strong and positive, thanks to you all!

Hope you will have an amazing Christmas and 2021 will be better than 2020 :)
