Help Kiwi to help recoup losses from medical and other bills due to personal emergencies.
Turns out my Nana Doreen Wanhalla, was diagnosed with cancer and was seemingly doing well, well it's in her lung and brain and we had to fight tooth and nail to even get that appointment for her. The lack of medical professionals here in NZ is shocking, and it's simply because the price of living here is too high and they're not paid enough. Which means they're all going overseas to Australia and Europe. So now the family is all pooling together to get her private medical care because OF COURSE it's almost immediate instead of 16-20 weeks minimum on a waiting list, and it has obliterated my personal savings but I wanted to help. We don't know how long she has left, but with how it's spreading it's probably about a year at most.
This will go towards private care via St Georges Hospital in Christchurch, the medical costs of chemo and other such procedures (biospy, scans, medications, etc etc.) As well as to help with her day-to-day costs to make things less stressful for her as possible in her final days.
I want to try to make her time left as peaceful as possible as well as make things comfortable for the family as a whole. I want to do what I can, be it helping recoup any losses they have had due to this sudden medical emergency or if the goal is met and there is anything extra, maybe have that go towards one last family holiday? This would be the dream to build some more positive memories for the future for us.

Merry Christmas 26 December 2025
Just a small festive update on our end. Nana thankfully got discharged after her heart attack and also had an oncology appointment too. It's been a chaotic week and a bit to be sure, but Nana is getting a lot of rest now.
Next month she will be having a PET Scan to see how the treatment is doing, hopefully we have some good news then.
Take care everyone and have a happy new year
