Koko had an accident last Friday, writing off her car, which has helped us (disabled people+family) get mobile with a COGY, pedal wheelchair
Nationwide
Koko got into an accident last Friday. Thank goodness, Koko is OK, but her car is sadly so damaged, it cannot be repaired.
We would love to raise funds for Koko to get another car, so that she can carry on with supporting people with COGY (pedal wheelchair).
As a mother of a COGY user, we would love more people to know and benefit from COGY. Koko has been passionately working on this since 3 years ago. She offers COGY sessions for us, letting her samples to people who don't have their own yet. We don't want her to give up nor even slow down the great work she is doing. She planed to drive down to Wellington in 2 weeks, with sample COGYs. We don't want people in Wellington to miss this chance. (We live in Auckland)
Now, let me explain a little about COGY.
My son, Miro, is 25 years old, with cerebral palsy. He cannot walk, talk, sit unaided or feed himself. He uses a communication book and body languages. He has lots of interests. He loves trains, music, animals, movies, swimming, going to concerts, camping, travelling and catching up with friends and family.
We were so excited when we found a physical activity Miro can enjoy, while at the same time he can keep/promote his physical/cognitive ability by using this equipment. That's COGY, pedal-wheelchair. We raised funds here on givealittle and purchased Miro a COGY.
Miro loves riding COGY. When Miro first tried COGY, it was hard for him to work out how to pedal. But on the second time, I clearly saw him pushing on the pedals, and Miro looked really happy. Every time Miro rides his COGY, I see improvements. He sits in it well without much restrictions, and with better control on his back and head than when he is on other chairs. For some reason, Miro looks much less disabled on COGY, he loves riding his COGY.
Luckily, Koko did not injure herself despite of this shocking accident. All she needs is another car. It doesn't have to be flash. Just big enough to load COGYs and reliable enough to carry on the project. For her to be able to go to Wellington, we need to raise $3000 in 1 week.
Koko has been voluntarily devoting her time for us. She also has devoted her private savings to keep on with this cause. She does not have well paid job (no offence, Koko..), she is not able to save for another car, and her car was not fully insured.
Please donate, please share. We appreciate every support.
My son is one of COGY users. I have known Koko since before she started this project. My son really loves COGY. We would love more people to receive benefit from Koko’s involvement. Keep on, Koko!
Funds will be used to purchase another vehicle to transport pedal wheelchairs.
Thank you so much for all your help 6 September 2019
Together with facebook-fundraising, we have raised about $1000 in only a week! Koko has paid deposit for the next car, and now she's on her way to Wellington.
Thank you very much for your support.
We wish Koko a safe trip.
Thank you so much for your generous donation! I am sure Koko will drive very carefully this time, not to waste your support. Again, thank you!
Thank you, Miho, for your generous donation. Thanks to all your help, we raised enough for deposit, and Koko's on her way to Wellington, in this harsh weather. Please you take care, too.
