Kylie, 42, is battling aggressive cancer and facing major surgery with no income, urgently needing support for living and medical costs.
Kylie has faced more in the past few months than most of us could imagine. What began as a left-side mastectomy in Sept has turned into a devastating and aggressive battle. After complications and infections, doctors discovered the cancer had spread to the lymph nodes in her neck and into her tongue. She now faces major life-changing surgery — removing between 1/2 and 3/4 of her tongue — and will have to learn how to speak, eat, and communicate again.
Kylie is 42. She is strong, brave, loved, and she loves fishing. But she is terrified — not only of the cancer, but of how she and her husband, Sid, will survive without her income.
In February 2024, Kylie married her soulmate. What should have been a beautiful new chapter has become one filled with hospital rooms and fear. Kylie goes into Waikato Hospital on December 4th for major surgery, followed by months of recovery and further treatment. Sid is staying with family to be near her, but the financial strain is immense.
Kylie’s income has stopped completely. Sid is using all his leave. Their bills continue. Travel, food, medication, and daily essentials continue. But their safety net has disappeared.

Kylie’s biggest fear shouldn’t be money. She deserves to focus on healing, not on how they will survive. Your kindness can give them stability, relief, and hope.
I am a good friend of Sid’s and had the privilege of being their marriage celebrant.
