I work at a staff support job, 6 shifts a fortnight. Which helps with my mentally and income also to help out towards all of the costs.

My name is Leanne, mother to 6, partner to my fiancé whom I’ve been with for 21 years. I have 7 beautiful grandchildren. Friend to many, sister and daughter. My journey with cancer began Year 2022 I find out I had bowel cancer, which had spread to my ovaries, I started on chemo for a few months and underwent surgery to remove the tiny bit of bowel and a full hysterectomy. I followed on with chemo for about 7 months to then find out early 2023 I had cancer lesions in the peritoneal area and within the abdomen, I continued chemotherapy for another 2 months.
I had a 3 month break and underwent the mother of all surgery’s called HIPEC October 2023. Enjoyed a nice break without chemo up until April 2024, 5 months after the HIPEC surgery I found out unfortunately I have more cancer lesions which are scattered now throughout my abdomen, near the bladder and bowel and a couple near the stomach so can now longer operate due to be scattered throughout.
My only option now is to go through immunotherapy (Keytruda) which is a targeted drug to help with the bowel cancer metastasised, stage 4 with unfortunately a bad mutation which is called BRAF, which makes the cancer more aggressive. Chemo for me does not work as it doesn’t shrink the cancer lesions.
Last option now is to have the immunotherapy (Keytruda) which is a trail in NZ which is not funded for bowel cancer, costing me $69,000. It will have to be infused into me every 3 weeks with each infusion costing $1,000 at a time.
I am Leanne's friend and set up the page her
