Supporting Lisa west through her cancer journey
Bay of Plenty
On Friday, 22 May, our mum Lisa West walked into hospital with a sore hip. Just a few hours later, our family received the heartbreaking news that she has cancer throughout her hip, lungs, neck, and brain.
This was completely unexpected and has turned our world upside down. Unfortunately, there is very little doctors can do at this stage, but we are now looking into alternative treatments and care to help Mum navigate this journey and give her as much comfort and support as possible.
As many people have already reached out asking how they can help, we thought this would be the best way to ease some of the financial stress during such a difficult time for Mum and our family.
Anyone who knows our mum knows she has spent her entire life helping others. Growing up, she was not only a mum to us, but also to many of our friends. She opened her home and heart to multiple foster children throughout our childhood and dedicated her career to helping people through social work, brain injury support, and rehabilitation. For 58 years, she has poured her energy into caring for others — now she is the one who needs support.
Any donations, no matter how small, would mean the world to us and would go towards:
• Alternative treatments and care
• Household bills and day-to-day living costs
• Food and travel expenses
• Funeral costs and family support
Thank you so much for your kindness, support, messages, and donations during this incredibly difficult time. We truly appreciate every bit of love.
