Help Lucy kick her second breast cancer out for good. Any donation no matter how big or small will be appreciated. Thank You
Auckland
Only 6 weeks ago and almost 7 yrs to the day of having been diagnosed with breast cancer in the right breast.
Lucy was enjoying life cancer free, until she discovered a new lump in left breast. It is a fast growing cancer and her chemo had to start immediately. Life has been put on hold with one down and preparing for 2nd chemo, every 21 days for 4 months, followed by a 2nd mastectomy and then 11 more rounds of chemo - pertuzumab.
Unfortunately 1 of the 4 chemo drugs (pertuzumab) is not pharmac funded for Lucy's situation. While she has qualified for some cost sharing funding there is still a substantial shortfall.
Any help contributing to the financial burden would be so appreciated. This will give Lucy and her family the chance to focus more on the physical and emotional toll this takes.
Lucy is one of the hardest working people I know; nurse at Settlers retirement village, relief nurse for 6 schools, police blood tests, and runs an Airbnb and has spent years as a girl guide leader. She is often fundraising for cancer support charities, just last month raising $2741 for the Pink Ribbon Appeal by holding one of her chocolate bingo fundraisers.
As a nurse Lucy has always taken care of people and now we would love the opportunity to try and take care of Lucy on her journey ahead.
I am Debbie, Lucy’s sister-in-law starting this give a little page. Every dollar raised will be going straight into Lucy to assist with payment for chemo and medications.
We are so very grateful to the community for the love and support.
I am her favourite loving sister-in-law

And the hair is gone 24 June 2026
Wow where have the last 2 months gone, yes only 2 months ago we discovered this new tumour and now I'm a ⅓ of the way through the 1st cycle of chemo and yes my hair has almost gone. It started falling out day 17 after the first lot of chemo shortly after coming out of hospital. Sophie joined me to visit my wonderful hairdresser, Judy, to shave off the last of it last Monday. An emotional day but actually I'm liking my bald head better than I thought.
I just want to say a huge thank you to all of your very generous donations and words of support.
Together will beat this. 💓
