Help me capture great shots of your car!

As many of you know, I moonlight as a car photographer — prowling the streets and shows of Canterbury on weekends, camera in hand, chasing down classic beauties. I run the Cool Cruising Facebook page, which not only showcases my photography but also serves up a healthy dose of car news, event coverage, and the occasional bit of automotive nonsense.

Now, this has never been a money-making venture — if I wanted to get rich, I’d have chosen a hobby that doesn’t involve standing in the rain waiting for a 1972 Charger to roll by. But here’s the rub: my gear is getting a bit long in the tooth. Just like car parts, camera gear doesn’t last forever, and one of my favourite lenses is now suffering from a severe case of “lazy autofocus.” Unfortunately, new (or even second-hand) lenses don’t grow on trees.

So, I’m putting the call out to my followers: if anyone can help me get my hands on a replacement lens — new or gently used — it would keep Cool Cruising rolling along with sharp, shiny shots for all to enjoy.

If you’d like to chip in, think of it as helping me replace a busted carburettor — but for my camera. Every bit helps, whether it’s a few bucks, a lead on a decent second-hand lens, or just spreading the word. After all, crisp photos make for much better bragging rights.
