Help me get to the World Bank Group's Youth Summit!

Out of 2,500 applicants from around the world, with only 400 places available, I have been invited to attend the World Bank Group's Youth Summit, to be held in Washington D.C.

My name is Aniston and I need your help to get there.

The World Bank Group is an international financial institution with the aims of ending extreme poverty and promoting prosperity. They do not work in the sense of a real bank, as they help give financial and technical assistance to developing countries that are in need. The World Bank Group's annual Youth Summit engages youth across the globe to discuss important issues that correlate with the World Bank Group's mission and provide the tools for youth, like myself, to implement projects that can help end poverty. This year's theme is "Unleashing the power of Human Capital" which will focus on areas such as access to education, healthcare, elderly care, financial empowerment and more.

This two-day conference, held on the third and fourth of December, will be life-changing for me. I will be able to engage in discussion with other like-minded youth and tackle these significant issues, as well as do my bit to make the world a better place. This conference will also open doors for me to meet with important leaders of today's society so that I can take the solutions and ideas developed at the conference and implement them in the real world.

This will be an amazing experience and I am grateful for the opportunity to sit down and discuss these issues.  We will be talking about issues that affect millions of people who suffer from great adversity everyday. I am no stranger to adversity myself, as I have overcome eighteen years of medical problems including countless surgeries. I want to be a voice for the others in this world who don't have the access to basic health care, or who don't have the resources to survive like I have been privileged with.  Attending this conference will allow me to be that voice.

This is an opportunity of a lifetime and I am so honoured to have been accepted but unfortunately, financial barriers are unavoidable.

I have usually self-funded myself. with support from my family. when attending other conferences such as the New Zealand United Nations Youth events - whether that be national events like the New Zealand Model United Nations in Wellington or the local Auckland Model Security Council - but due to the costs of flights to Washington D.C as well as accommodation, it will be impossible for me and my family to raise these funds in such a short time without your help.
